LEC title run cut short for PSU Women's Softball

ECAC bid ends in May 7 loss to Western New England

When you don't succeed, try, try again and the PSU softball team has been doing just that since their historic season in 2003. In 2003, the Panthers softball team went 30-9 overall and 9-5 in the Little East Conference. Since then, they've been vying again for another shot at the Little East Conference Championship when they fell to Keene State College 0-1 in the championship game.

The Panthers softball team's tremendous 2008 campaign halted on Friday, May 2 when the Panthers fell to Keene State 10-4 in the LEC Tournament. Plymouth will play in the ECAC New England Tournament. Plymouth traveled to Western New England College on Wednesday, May 7. The Panthers went 25-14 overall and 5-9 in the conference, posting their first overall winning season since 2003. The twenty-five wins for the Panthers marks the second-most in school history and a 12-game improvement over last season.

The Panthers traveled to Fort Myers, F.L. to compete in the annual Gene Cusic Classic and dropped their first two games. PSU then put together a 14-game winning streak to improve their record to 14-2 and 2-0 in the conference.
