Credit debate fate decided Wednesday afternoon

After months of debate, the fate of the four-credit issue was finally put to rest. On Wed. May 7, PSU faculty members voted down the motion to adopt a four-credit system in place of the three-credit system.
Part of the main concern when dealing with the change over from the three-credit system was the general education program.

The PSU computer store recently changed the way they do business on campus. The store closed its physical location on Merrill St. in favor of direct online sales.

On May 1, the Computer Store on Merrill St. was revamped to house solely repairs and computer maintenance.

Criminal Justice job fair a success

The PSU Criminal Justice Organization held their first annual Criminal Justice Career fair on Mon. May 5.

The fair was held on the Alumni Green. Federal and State agencies were on hand to display the work done by the individual organizations. The fair was open to all majors and was designed as a way to show juniors and seniors the different career opportunities available at both the state and federal levels after college.

HUB End of the Year Celebration

The annual End of the Year celebration was hosted in the HUB Courtroom on April 30.

This year's "Night at the Oscars" party had a springtime twist - a Hawaiian theme. Student organizations from all over campus put on their best Hawaiian attire and came together for one last hoo-rah to celebrate their accomplishments, successes, and to remember fondly on the past year with skits and presentations.

Competitors in the Second Annual Hot Dog Eating Contest chowed down Sat. May 3 in the Fireplace Lounge. It was hosted by PSU's own radio crew, WPCR at 91.7, in cooperation with and support by Junkyard Dawgs.

Fans lined the staircase and balcony overlooking the FPL while participants devoured hundreds of hot dogs in 12-minute sets.

Baseball ends disappointing season on sour note

The PSU baseball team wrapped up their season Saturday, May 3 at Panther Park, playing a double header against Eastern Connecticut Warriors and losing both games .
The first game was close with a score of 4-2. The Panthers had ten hits in the game while Connecticut only had eight.

Western Connecticut ends PSU Men's Lacrosse title hopes

The PSU Men's Lacrosse team saw its season end in Danbury, Connecticut at the hands of the Western Connecticut Colonials, losing the Little East Conference championship game 18-7 on Thurs. May 3. The Panthers finished the season 12-6 and will still compete in the East Coast Athletic Conference tournament as the number two seed.

LEC title run cut short for PSU Women's Softball

When you don't succeed, try, try again and the PSU softball team has been doing just that since their historic season in 2003. In 2003, the Panthers softball team went 30-9 overall and 9-5 in the Little East Conference. Since then, they've been vying again for another shot at the Little East Conference Championship when they fell to Keene State College 0-1 in the championship game.

So far, the 2008 NBA Playoffs haven't gone the way the Boston Celtics would like for the first round. The Celts began the playoffs playing the Atlanta Hawks, who only won 37 games in the regular season. Dear Editor,
When I picked up the April 25th [sic] issue of The Clock[sic], I was very excited to see that the Dragfabulous drag show got a lot of coverage. While the article did a good job capturing the excitement and joy of the event, I was disappointed and shocked that there was no mention of Janelle "Angel" Sprague's show stealing performance of "With You" by Chris Brown.

Today is Spring Fling and I am horrified. It is pouring rain and quite cold. What is worse, as I walked behind the Silver Center today I found what appeared to be an abandoned cat. It is perhaps a year old, brown striped and sitting with a box layered with a towel, a Styrofoam bowl with water, [sic] and a plate with what appears to be the remains of food.
