In soundoff, The Clock will propose a one word writing prompt each week that participants can write up to 300 words on. The word of the week will (usually) be culturally significant, controversial, or frequently invoked in the national discourse. Every week The Clock will compile the most eloquent or original entries in the Editorials section of our print edition. Be loud, be creative, and speak from your heart. Or be stupid for all we care. This is soundoff. Word up.
