Early on the morning of Thurs., Nov. 3, a Mandarin Taste employee reported to police that he was physically assaulted and robbed after delivering a food order on campus. The suspect and his whereabouts remain unknown.
The victim told police that he was walking by Samuel Read Hall Hall around 12:38 a.m. when he suffered a blow to the back of the head and fell to the ground. No serious injuries ensued.
The assailant stole a bank bag from the fallen victim before departing the scene. The actual monetary value of the stolen bank bag is not known.
The Plymouth Police Department is currently actively investigating the alleged robbery. University Police issued a campus-wide safety alert around 8:30 on Thurs. morning.
In a need2know email, Chief Creig Doyle of the UPD described the suspect as an "unknown race Male, approximately 5'10" to 6'00" in height, wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and blue jeans."
The UPD asks that anyone with additional information on the alleged robbery or suspect-at-large to contact either Officer Richard Ort of the Plymouth Police Department at 603-536-1804 or Special Investigator Jennifer Frank of the University Police Department at 603-535-2330.
The UPD also encourages everyone to take precautionary measures when travelling after dark, and advises people to walk in well-lit areas and with one or more people.
