1.Zach Edwards, Football- Edwards broke out of his shell last Saturday against UMass Dartmouth, completing 21-25 passes for 176 yards and a passing touchdown. With a struggling Panther offense, look for him to step up this weekend as they take on Westfield State.
2.Dani Tabor, Volleyball- Tabor is ranked second in the LEC with a hitting percentage of .325. With 3.2 kills per set and 158 kills so far this year, Tabor posted 17 kills against Husson with a .406 hitting percentage.
3.Alivia Bates, Field Hockey- The sophomore keeper from Pennsauken, New Jersey is putting up incredible numbers so far this year. Giving up 1.58 goals/game, she’s posted three shutouts and given up just two goals so far in-conference. Bates has made 44 saves so far this year with a save percentage of .800.
4.Felix Lindeberg, Men’s Soccer- Lindeberg, in his second year as a captain, has been a dominant factor in goal so far for the Panthers. Posting a save percentage of .762, Lindeberg made eight saves in a huge win against conference rival Keene State.
5.Sunny Jakubas, Women’s Tennis- The sophomore sensation and sister of conference POY Zara Jakubas is living up to her name so far, posting a 5-0 overall record in singles competition.
Teams
1.Field Hockey (5-2 overall, 3-0 LEC)- The lady Panthers are off to a great start so far this season, looking to get to the Little East Conference championship after a tough break from last year. Outscoring their LEC opponents 7-2, it’s easy to see that they’re a huge contender early on.
2.Mens’ Soccer (3-3-1 overall, 1-0-1 LEC)- Beating Keene State, IN Keene State, is a huge step in the right direction for this team. Earning them their first LEC win of the season, the men beat Keene State at home for the first time since 2007.
3. Volleyball (11-4 overall, 1-1 LEC)- The women’s volleyball team hold the best record in years, posting nearly as many wins so far this year than they had in all of last year. Transfers Dani Tabor (Olympia, Wash.) and Claire Sporer (Medford, Oregon) have been a key factor in Plymouth’s offensive firepower.
4.Tennis (3-4 overall, 3-1 LEC)- The women’s tennis team picked up two huge LEC victories the past two Saturdays, beating out UMass Dartmouth and UMass Dartmouth on strong play from the team’s upperclassmen.
