1. Men’s Ice Hockey: the reigning MASCAC champs are 3-1 and 2-0 in conference play with their only loss coming against Stonehill College.

2. Women’s Swimming & Diving: The swimming/diving team is 2-0 in individual meets and finished fourth at the Louise Goodrum Invitational Meet.

3. Men’s Basketball: The Panther squad is 2-0 after wins at Thomas College and against Rivier at the Boys & Girls Club Classic.

4. Wrestling: PSU wrestling is currently 1-1. After losing their first match against Norwich, they beat Daniel Webster in their latest matchup.

5. Women’s Ice Hockey: The lady Panthers are 2-4 on the season with two big home wins against UMASS Boston and University of New England.

6. Women’s Basketball: They’re 0-2 to start the season losing close contests to River and New England College. Hopefully they can put something together for conference play coming up soon. Taking a look at some individual student athlete performances:

1. Senior Gordon Ceasar (Oak Park, CA) Men’s Ice Hockey: The starting goaltender for the Panthers squad is on fire in the early part of the season. In 180 minutes on ice he has 85 saves for a goals against average of 2.33 and a save percentage of .924, no surprise he was named the MASCAC Goalie of the Week.

2. Freshman Colby Lanceleve (Stewiacke, N.S.) Men’s Ice Hockey: The young freshman forward has quickly adapted to the big time of college athletics. He was named the MASCAC Rookie of the Week and he has 3 goals and 4 assists this season.

3. Senior Andrew Wigg (Lantz, N.S.) Men’s Ice Hockey: Another native of Nova Scotia, the recent MASCAC player of the year Wigg has 5 pts this season coming off two goals and three assists. He also was selected to the Weekly Honor Roll.

4. Freshman Julia Mazza (Belchertown, MA) Swimming & Diving: Julia was selected as the LEC Rookie Swimmer of the Week and it is easy to see why with a first place in the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 1:03.48, and a win in the 50 fly at 28.74 seconds. She was also third in the 100-yard freestyle at 59.90 seconds, and she swam the butterfly leg on PSU's winning 200-yard medley relay team.

5. Freshman Emelie Lindqvist (Gulleråsen, Sweden) Women’s Ice Hockey: Emelie has been a great net minder for the Panther’s early on. She has 121 saves for a 2.10 goals allowed average and a .938 save percentage. She shares the NEHC Rookie of the Week award.

Andrew Wigg (35), Caleb O'Brian (5) and teammates celebrate after a goal.
