On Friday, Jan.29 Plymouth State University finished off the first week of classes with the student organization activities fair, but this time with it’s own special blend of style, elegance, and student life class!
Participating students were swept into Plymouth’s own version of a Las Vegas Casino, complete with blackjack tables, slot machines, a live DJ, and the well-received refreshments table. Among the showcase of casino fashion, were the represented organizations from all across campus, anxious to reel in some new members.
The Plymouth Royale experience was something the University had never tried before with the activities fair, the goal was to appeal more to first year students, and transfer students looking to get involved on campus.
“I think the presentation tonight was fantastic,” said Rayanne Lepisto a first year undeclared major, “The atmosphere, the energy, it all was great. You could really tell everyone was excited to be here, it made me feel more involved just talking to some of the student organizations and learning what they’re about.”
Located outside the courtroom was a table for the Student Support Foundation, collecting canned goods to be distributed to students in need in exchange for some old school Plymouth State swag. “It’s great seeing students bring these canned goods as a way to support one another,” said Anna Brown a senior, and a member of the Student Support Foundation.
“The reality is some students in this community need help to get food and other resources, and that’s just what we do. I’m so happy we got the chance to be here to make a difference,” said Brown.
Don’t forget PSU, we’re not just classy, we’re student life classy!
