You have all seen her around campus one time or another, but not all of you may know who she is. From working the Hartman Union Building info desk to taking on the enormous role of Student Body President, Ayla Steere is a popular figure here on Plymouth State University’s campus.
Ayla is currently in her senior year here at Plymouth State, majoring in Interdisciplinary Studies with a concentration in women’s health and a minor in women’s studies. Being originally from Catskill, New York, the environment of Plymouth State was a large change in the beginning but Ayla quickly found her place among the masses.
She is currently the Admissions Fellow for Plymouth and is planning on attending grad school next fall, hoping to stay in the area and continue her education at Plymouth State. After graduate school, her end goal is to become a guidance counselor for elementary or high school students. Along with the many positions she has held while here, Ayla has also served as a member on numerous hiring committees and is currently sitting as the Treasurer of the senior class.
Aside from Ayla’s academic side there is a side that many do not know about. She is well versed in the knowledge of chickens and claims to know every body part of the chicken. She also is one of the few people around who can roller skate while hula hooping. If you see Ayla on campus, say hello, and ask her if she knows any jokes because she is a connoisseur of comedy and is guaranteed to make you laugh.
