I t seems our generation is absolutely turned on by alternative music. The synthesized chords are like the fish hook that we seem to always bite. The drum beat pounds along with our hearts and the feeling the chords of an alternative song give off are so different than you would expect.
So why should you and your friends be introduced to a new band quickly rising in popularity. Well because it is much more deep than the peppy pop music everyone seems to be into these days. If anyone wants to start listening to alternative band, the one everyone should start with is 888. Their mastery of the synth and drums that decorate their lyrics will have everyone reeling. Debuting in Detroit of 2016 they have one small album consisting of five songs and a few other singles already gathering thousands of views on YouTube. Being a rather new band they have not quite gained the popularity they deserve. But once someone listens to their songs and lyrics it will change any alternative lover's mind. Title of their album is “Critical Mistakes” and the opening lyrics read like this, “Come wake me up before I die and never get to live.” The song goes on to include themes of resilience and forgiveness all with a back beat of a great synthesizer and drum beat. Even if this band slightly intrigues you, it is highly recommended that you go look them up. New and upcoming alternative bands need as much publicity as they can get if they wish to become the next Arctic Monkeys. A few songs that are more than worth your attention; “Gold” “Decades” “Critical Mistakes”, and “Seattle Rain.” So next time you are sitting on your bed wishing you could hear some new jams, do not forget 888 and their golden album “Critical Mistakes.”
