Music:
During the week of October 1, 2007, the single “Crank That (Soulja Boy)” by Soulja Boy stole its spot at #1 on the Billboard 100 back from Kanye West (with his single “Stronger), and wouldn’t budge from the position until early November.
Movies:
During this week ten years ago, romantic comedy “The Heartbreak Kid” (starring Ben Stiller and Michelle Monaghan) made a cinematic splash, along with drama/crime thriller “Michael Clayton,” starring George Clooney. While "The Heartbreak Kid" received mostly mediocre or poor reviews, "Michael Clayton" was favored by film critics.
Video Games:
“The Legend of Spyro: The Eternal Night” kept the “Spyro” series surging forward during this week, and was released for Playsation 2, Gameboy Advance and Nintendo DS. In suit with the trend of furthering game series, “The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass” was released for Nintendo DS ten years ago, as well.
Books:
Suspense novel “You’ve Been Warned” by James Patterson and Howard Roughan still held a tight grip on the top position of “The New York Times” bestseller list at this time, and would not be knocked off until the following week.
