Founded and run by Arin Hanson, Game Grumps features it’s two top co-stars Arin himself and Daniel Avidan in their new YouTube red show Good Game. The shows plot revolves around a World of Warcraft like game called KillCore and five elite players of this game and their coach trying to win a tournament for $1 million. The show features much more than just gaming. It features characters dealing with real problems, has a cast that is largely diverse and who face the challenges many Americans can relate too. Good Game’s message deals with racism and admonishes the proverbial white knight that saves the day as well as themes like romance, alcoholism, tortured pasts, and insecurities everyone faces. Good Game’s two main characters are Arin Hanson as Riland, a “retired” gamer who faces difficulty in past friendships and is reluctantly forced into the KillCore tournament and Dan Avidan as Alex, the overly kind best friend who lives on Riland’s couch and is excited about the tournament which will give him a chance to get out of Riland’s house. Both characters face challenges that lots of viewers can relate too, however it is their personalities and character development that keep people watching.
