Men’s Basketball

December 2- Men’s Basketball lost their first Little East Conference game by 30 points to UMass Dartmouth on home court. This dropped their record to 2-3 overall and 0-1 in LEC. Sophomore Jaylen Leroy (Manchester, N.H.) threw 19 points on the board and grabbed five rebounds to add to the Panther’s performance. Junior Mike Osgood (Nashua NH) also had a solid game with 17 points and nine rebounds. The game was relatively close throughout the game but UMass had several players with double-doubles to put the Panthers under.

December 5- The Panther’s led a nail biting game against Framingham State and held them off for the 58-51 win. PSU evens out at 3-3 overall for the season. With a late three-pointer from Mike Osgood and perfect free throws from Jaylen Leroy, PSU nailed the coffin shut last Tuesday night. The game was back and forth with incredible performances from both teams but with Osgood and Leroy both putting 15 points on the board and junior Chris Calnan (Wakefield, MA) snagging a game high of nine rebounds, PSU came out on top.

Women’s Basketball

December 2- Even with junior Jess Conant’s (Canton, Maine) and freshman Elizabeth McLaughlin’s (Melvin Village, N.H) double-digit points and rebounds, PSU still lost to UMass Dartmouth 87-69 . The Panthers go to 2-4 overall and 0-1 in LEC. Sophomore Brittany Roche (Londonderry, N.H.) led PSU with 23 points. Conant added to the Panther’s effort, recording her first dou-ble-double of the year with 20 points and 13 rebounds and McLaughlin earned her second double-double, scoring 10 points and snatching 13 rebounds.

December 5- Top performances from junior Jess Conant, sophomore Brittany Roche and freshman Elizabeth McLaughlin, scoring all but four points in PSU’s win, allowed the Panther’s to roll over Lasell College, 55-47. PSU improves to 3-4 over this season with this win. Plymouth was trailing behind by just two points at the start of the fourth quarter. With a solid defense and only limiting LC to six points, PSU was able to end their losing streak. Conant pushed to get her second straight double- ouble and lead PSU with 22 points and grabbing 11 rebounds. Roche also got a double-double with 21 points and 10 rebounds, and McLaughlin finished strong too with 10 points and 8 rebounds.
