The Plymouth State Women's Lacrosse team is coming off of a 12-3 2013 season, in which one of the leading scorers for the Panthers was Amy MacDonald (Hull, MA).

In the 2013 season, MacDonald recorded 58 points (36 goals, 22 assists), which propelled her into a tie for 23rd all-time for points in PSU Women's Lacrosse.

Fast-forward to the 2014 season, and the Junior Captain is on pace for  a record-setting season. Through only four games, MacDonald has 11 goals and 11 assists, which is good enough for 5.5 points per game (and on pace for 77 points this season). Aside from being able to have strong play on the field, MacDonald has now become quite a vocal leader for PSU, which was a big reason as to why she was named a Captain this Spring. Her ability to direct her team on and off the field will be a big reason as to why the Panthers will have a successful season, and it will be interesting to see where she will be on the all-time scoring list at the end of the season.

1. How long have you been playing lacrosse for?

I have been playing lacrosse since the program started in my town in 2002. So, about 12 years now.

2. How does the lacrosse team look for the 2014 season?

The team looks great after our first four games. The team has truly meshed to become a single unit, which can be deadly as our season continues. We've seen a lot of bright spots in both our attack and defense, but just need to focus on playing our game for 60 minutes every time we step on the field.

3.What is your most memorable moment in your lacrosse career?

The most memorable moment in my lacrosse career was scoring the game winning goal in double overtime on the road last year against a very strong Connecticut College team. Definitely something I will always remember.

4. Do you have any superstitions on game-day?

I don't really have any superstitions, but I definitely have a set routine. This includes a lot of little things such as sitting next to Shannon during scout review on the bus and listening to the "Inches" speech from Any Given Sunday in the locker room.

5. You recently just got back from North Carolina after going down South with your team. What were some activities that the team did, and what was your favorite moment?

We had a great spring-break trip down to North Carolina thanks to our coaching staff. They planned awesome activities, along with our games and practices. We stopped for day trips in NYC on the way down and in DC on the way back, which really split up the long bus trip. My favorite part was watching the defending Division 1 National Champions UNC practice right on the sidelines. It was awesome to see such a high level of play so up close and personal!

6. If I were to look at you Ipod/ITunes/etc. what would be the five most played songs?

In no particular order: Loyal by Chris Brown ft. Lil Wayne, Everything I Shouldn't Be Thinking About by Thompson Square, Pound Cake by Drake, Anywhere With You by Jake Owen, and Show Me by Kid Ink ft. Chris Brown

7. This team has a lot of freshman on it that will need to play crucial roles in order to be successful this season (just as your class did). What have you told them to become successful within this program?

In order to be successful in this program, you have to share the vision that the coaching staff and our upperclassmen have, which is to win championships and "want it." If you have the drive to work hard and stay humble, you will be successful.

8. How much motivation and desire is there for this team to capture the post-season LEC championship for the 2014 season?

I know that since my class has been here, we've been bounced in the semifinals by teams who we had previously beaten just weeks before, so there is still that bad taste in our mouths. The desire to capture the LEC trophy is unreal. We have so much unfinished business that has not been released yet. Stay tuned.

9. You are known for talking to an opponent while a game is going on so you can get in their head. What are some keys into getting in an opponents head?

You always have to stay classy, but get your point across. If you want to talk, you have to be able to back it up. There's nothing better than when someone chirps at you and you just smile and laugh when you put it in the back of the net. It's all competition.

10. The majority of the people around Plymouth call you Bubbles instead of Amy. Where did the nickname come from?

The nickname Bubbles started from Coach (Head Coach Kristin Tracy), who wanted to give me a nickname when I came to the summer camp right before the start of my freshman year. If you don't know me, I am wicked shy, so it was a joke that I was bubbly and outgoing. It's funny now because my teammates do not see me as a quiet or shy person. Little did I know that I would never be called Amy through my college career.
