Global Warming
“Run to high ground, the earth is sinking!” I can hear them now.
It seems as though the debate over global warming is back in our news. A piece of ice the size of Rhode Island dropped off the side of Antarctica and Ireland is said to be sinking into the ocean. Dear Heavens, what are we to do? I know! Let’s blame people, cars and America for the warming and change the course of nature. Let’s flood the media, who is more than willing to scare people into watching and just loves an underdog idea raised by fanatics, and tell America that it is Bush to blame! Forty years ago these same scientists were screaming about a coming ice age, that apparently nobody noticed. In today’s political climate, no pun intended, it’s time to start scaring people for attention and dollars once again. There cannot be one link between humans and global warming made that could not be attributed to natural warming. Planet Earth has been tremendously stable in the time humans have inhabited it. There have been warmer years and colder years just as nature dictates. Let’s stop the fanaticism and use our heads to determine a real course of action to treat our Earth better if need be. Turning off oil pumps will do nothing for the cause, and raising CAF standards will only make our roads death traps filled with wrecked Pintos. There are logical ways to deal with this maybe-issue so let us take the time to think about them and implement them throughout time.
Target: Iraq
The peace-freaks we see in Hollywood and on college campuses are crying foul over our inevitable attack on Iraq. Let us not forget a few things. Saddam Hussein has been on a murderous rampage for years and years. In 1988 he attacked the Kurds in the northern section of Iraq with chemical weapons. He started a campaign called Al Anfal that killed anywhere from between 50,000 to 180,000 Kurds, leaving 40,000 villages destroyed on the way, and these are his own people! This war we are fighting is not about military threats but about the existence of evil on our planet. We must be determined to rid the world of those that seek gratitude in murderous dictatorship practices that seek to destroy Israel, America, and people who are not of their beliefs. Hussein is a threat to the world and saying otherwise is to turn a blind eye to something that smacked you right in the face.
Hollywood Opinions
Why do the liberals of America listen to Hollywood’s high school dropouts when it comes to politics? It baffles me to see idiots like Alec Baldwin given airtime to opinionate their highly uninformed views. He commented on how he would leave the United States if Bush won the presidency. I think I speak for all conservative people when I shout, “All Aboard!”
Blaming America First
How easy it is to live in a free society and criticize it. In the past we had treason defined in the actions of Jane Fonda in Vietnam, yet she still walks the free land. Today we have John Walker joining forces with the evil enemy citing the abuse of “American imperialism,” yet he not only walks the free land, but also finds a lawyer that convinces him he was brainwashed. How easy it is to live in a free society and criticize it.
Why are citizens, especially among the collegiate, finding it so easy to criticize a country that at that very same time is defending them? Some argue a simple difference in opinion while others see it as dangerous ignorance. For the latter’s case lets remind ourselves that we were attacked. If we do nothing now, we will continue to be attacked because those who seek to destroy Israel and America will not relent in today’s world. There is no way to reason with determined fanatics and questionable policies can change only if we remain around to change them. Freedom from fanaticism is not a purely American goal; it is a world goal.
I call upon all anti-American liberals out there to really think about what you are saying and if you really think you should be living here anymore. If it were up to me just please, run fast and don’t let the door hit you in the ass.
