The Plymouth State lacrosse team started their Little East Conference quest on Monday, April 1 with a big win over Salem State College in Salem. The Panthers bumped their season record to .500 with an18-9 victory over the Vikings of Salem State.
At one point the game was tied at 6, but the Pack took control scoring 7 unanswered goals. “We started off sluggish, it took us the first two quarters to wake up,” said first year Panther coach Chuck Little. Juniors Jason Biedrzycki and Ken McGuire combined for 6 goals and 6 assists led Plymouth’s scoring attack. Senior Andrew Quesnel, junior Kevin Finnerty, and freshman Par O’malley each added two goals apiece. The defense played well in front of junior Dan Egan who made 9 saves. “Dan had another brilliant performance for us,” said Ken McGuire.
Plymouth State plays their second LEC game of the season tomorrow against the much-improved Keene State College. “This should be a really good match up. It is the battle of New Hampshire and we hope to come out on top,” McGuire stated, with enthusiasm. If you have time this weekend, show your school spirit and make the trip down to Keene at 12:00 p.m. “We are going to take it game by game. Our goal is still to win the LEC,” says Little.
