For days the media and liberals hounded President Bush on not being involved enough in the Middle East conflict between the Israelis and Palestinians. Now after sending Secretary of State Colon Powell to the region they are criticizing Bush on putting his and America’s influence and image on the line. Which do they want? How easy it must be to work in the air-conditioned offices of New York and talk through your seat.
In regards to the overall situation in the Middle East, let us set a few things straight. As we bombed Afghanistan, we went after Al Qaeda and at the same time dropped food rations to the Afghan people. No other country would feed the people they were at the same time liberating. Where were all of the Middle Eastern countries’ food drops—the same countries that could not resist criticizing the U.S.? Nowhere to be found. With government-controlled radio telling the people the food was poisoned, our own war of information was sabotaged by our own media after they irresistibly told the American public we would be lying in radio broadcasts. This, even as the government-controlled media of the Middle East is telling their people this war America is raging on them is to destroy Islam. In reality, however, the Middle East is raging its war on Jews and Christians. Let us get that through our thick heads.
The countries in the Middle East are not held accountable by either themselves or the European community. What is Europe’s problem with facing the reality of today? I cannot believe they are so pitiful that they cannot look to the past and see what passiveness does to the world. We saved them from Hitler and it looks as though we will be saving them once again.
Iraq’s own Saddam Hussien has stated publicly that he is sending $25,000 to the families of homicide bombers in Palestine. Saudi Arabia has an American-style telethon to pay off the families of “martyrs”, as they put it. They raised over $50 million for the Palestinian “cause”, although the “cause” was only told in the telethon as “the end to Israel and Zionism.” Those countries’ hands are so dirty it makes Clinton look like a virgin.
Now we see ourselves stuck between a rock and a hard place. What President would want to start World War III? If we honestly wanted to rid the world of terrorism, it would mean ridding the Middle East of dictators that control their people, the information, and the terrorist networks. Could you imagine the press, or the world for that matter, after a B-2 bomber flies over the Middle East dropping nukes on every capital in the region? The fact is Saudi Arabia, Syria, Lebanon, Iraq, Iran, and others are, in some cases, talking nice to our faces then doing everything to screw us. We know this is happening, our intelligence is the best in the world, yet we can do nothing about it without starting a world war. That is the reality of today.
If Europe would take care of their region we would not have to carry the load. Our military forces, no thanks to the Clinton administration, are depleted and strung out doing police activities. There is NO reason for us to still be in Kosovo or Bosnia. Where are the European countries? Frankly, I’m tired of taking care of those who refuse to take care of themselves and their region. It is no doubt they would be speaking German right now if it wasn’t for American blood and money. That is the reality of yesteryear.
We have proven time and time again that we are not conquerors. After the almost complete destruction of Germany and Japan in World War II, America could have easily taken control of those lands, yet we did not. We spent taxpayer money to rebuild both countries back from the dirt and now, only sixty years later, they are economic and global powers to be dealt with. Our mission today is as clear as it was then.
Some Americans need to stop living in a fantasy world. The reality of today is the existence of evil and the need to halt its spread. The fight in the Middle East, regarding Israel versus the rest of the region, is stemming from pure hatred. The region must crack down on terrorism and it is just a plain fact that they have not completely done so yet. Why should it be only America’s burden to shoulder when the Middle East is teaming with this hatred and terrorism? The good of that part of the world must take control now and prove to all nations they are in this fight for a civilized and peaceful global human existence.
