New Student Body Trustee Elected

Amy Franklin, a junior at Plymouth State College, is the University System Student Body Trustee elect and is looking forward to the next year of serving as a representative of the Plymouth State College student body. Voting for this position was offered only online and Franklin was an uncontested candidate. Although Franklin has no priorities with coming into her newly elected position, she states, “I intend to bring the Trustees insight on the students and campus of Plymouth. I bring with me a strong pride towards the college and a dedication to help Plymouth continue to thrive.”

As a student trustee, Franklin will attend all Board meetings. She is also on the sub-committee of Programs and Services, which involve such things as majors and minors offered by the school and public relations. Franklin adds, “This committee relates to the student body in that it deals a lot with the things offered to students, and how the school is run.”

The motto for the Plymouth State Student Government is “Making a Difference to Students.” When proposed with the question of what she intends to do to, “Make a difference,” Franklin responds, “I am constantly interested in the issues students feel address them the most and are

the most important. I feel confident in that I will be helping students by seeing that their concerns are addressed. I hope to make a difference to students by helping them feel and know that they have a voice and to know that I am their voice.”
