To the Editor:I’m writing to complain about the lack of equipment and room that the HUB weight room has, or doesn’t have. I spend ten minutes waiting for a piece of equipment that is part of my daily work out routine. And that isn’t just the total amount of time I wait while I’m there. Each time I go to use a machine, I have to wait…and wait…and wait, until finally, after my muscles have cooled off and my heartbeat is back to normal, I get to use it. This happens no matter what time I go to use the weight room in the hub. The amount of people the school expects us to pack in there is ridiculous. I mean who wants to work out with 10 guys waiting to use the same machine your using, or standing shoulder to shoulder to the person next to you while you try to do bicep curls? This is getting out of control! The cable machine looks like it’s ready to shit the bed, and some of the other machines are looking pretty sketchy. The school promotes healthy habits and good health, but what the hell is a guy supposed to do if he spends three hours at the gym and leaves pissed off because he only got done half his workout, in a longer period of time than what would normally take? Someone or something needs to be done. Why not spread SOME of the wealth for good health? Just a few simple repairs and maybe an addition or two would help…a lot.
