The Vagina Monologues, by Eve Ensler, will be performed Thursday, Friday, and Saturday of this week Feb 27-28 and Mar 1 at 8:00 pm. in Hyde 220. It is part of the V-Day 2003 College Campaign. V-Day’s mission is to end violence against girls and women worldwide. It generates broader attention for the fight to universally stop global violence against females, including rape, battery, incest, female genital mutilation (FGM), and sexual slavery.
The Vagina Monologues is being presented by the office of Women’s Services and Gender Resources, and all proceeds will be given to Voices Against Violence.
Director Jennie Gratton, a Plymouth State College student, leads a cast of twelve students from multiple majors and an adjunct faculty member in this funny yet enlightening production. This year there has been an added flavor to the Vagina Monologues. Senior Theatre major, Ben Aufill, has written a new monologue for a man, in a once all women cast.
Admission is $5 and tickets are available through Silver Cultural Arts
Center Box Office, or with cash at the door.
