PLYMOUTH, NH — Hit The Clock’s website one more time, as did over 26 thousand other people for the month of February. Setting a record amount for the website. The popular Plymouth State College newspaper has been available online since March 29, 2002. Alumni, former students, parents, professors, faculty and perspective students alike flock to their computers to read the latest articles.
William Currie, formerly a Plymouth State College student, now living in Virginia checks The Clock Online to find out what the latest scoop is. “It’s convenient for me. Otherwise, I would have to wait a week for my brother to send me a copy,” he says. William also says it makes him feel more connected to his home state of New Hampshire, and his former school Plymouth State.
Brandon Todesca, freshmen English major, says he’s never heard of the online version, but now likes the idea of being able to save a tree and read the paper from his lap-top. Continuing with that thought, Kristye Hensel, sophomore, Early Childhood Studies, was also not aware of the availability of The Clock via the Internet. She likes the idea and said, “I will probably read it a bit more [in depth] online. I love looking at the print versions when they first come out though!”
Ashley Gilbuealt just transferred from Plymouth State to New Hampshire Technical Institute and commented that the only way for her to keep tabs on Plymouth State is to go to her computer and read convenient online edition.
Ashley Champlin, sophomore, Childhood Studies, says she found out about The Clock online last semester. “I was browsing through the Plymouth State website when I came across The Clock. I thought ‘this is cool, now I can read The Clock anywhere’.” Ashley regularly reads her favorite sections on the website, however, she also admits she grabs a weekly paper copy on Fridays. A habit many students at Plymouth State are accustom to.
It seems that the majority of people reading the online version the newspaper are people who live off campus or don’t have access to paper copies. However, many students read the paper copy while they are waiting for class to start, but go back to the online version to read a little more in depth. In addition, when students, unaware
The Clock is available online, realize its availability right where they spend most of there time, their computer, they love the idea.
