Tenney Opens Early

PLYMOUTH, N.H. ? On Octo-ber 4, Tenney Mountain opened its trails for the fall season. The ski mountain located just off Ten-ney Mountain Highway is using a new snowmaking technique that allowed them to open before any of the other ski areas both this year and last year. Imported from Japan, the snowmaking method relies on heavily water-based snow that doesn?t melt easily when warmed by the sun.

There is one trail open, called Glacier Park, the same trail used for snow tubing during the sum-mer. The trail features freshly made snow, jumps, and a series of rails.

Tenney is once again trying to forge a deal with the university to get students free passes for the winter season. Until the student ski package is announced, day long tickets for Glacier Park are available for $20 each.
