Memorial Service on Friday for Dr. Gary Richey

On Sunday, November 16, 2003, Dr. Gary Richey of the Education Department passed away after a long battle with cancer. Dr. Richey will long be remembered for his lasting contributions to the department, faculty, and students. Faculty remember him as a caring individual, who selflessly offered his assistance whenever possible. Students remember him as one of their most difficult professors; yet consider him an irreplaceable teacher and mentor.

A memorial service will be held on campus on Friday, November 21, 2003, at 1p.m. in the HUB Multipurpose Room (second floor). Retired Professor and colleague of Dr Richey, Dr. Christopher Clarke, will lead a prayer service, and friends and family members will share thoughts and reflections. Others who would like to speak will be given the opportunity to do so. There will be a reception in Frost Commons following the service. All are welcome.

A scholarship fund has been established in Dr. Richey?s memory. Donations to the fund are requested in place of flowers. Cash or checks may be mailed to the Advancement Office at MSC 50, or may be dropped off at their offices in Russell House, next to Lamson Library.
