PLYMOUTH, N.H. – For the third straight week, the leading scorer on the Plymouth State University women’s lacrosse team has been honored as the Little East Conference Offensive Player of the Week.Senior Katie Sheridan (West Sayville, N.Y.), who is the two-time LEC Offensive Player of the Year, was recognized again Monday for her performance in three Panther games last week. She has helped PSU to an 8-0 start and to first place in the conference standings.A high-scoring midfielder, Sheridan netted 13 goals and added five assists for 18 points last week to lead the Panthers to a pair of road wins. She erupted for a season-high 11 points on eight goals and three assists in a 17-5 win at Gordon, and added five goals and two assists for seven points in a 17-2 LEC triumph over Western Connecticut. Sheridan, who leads the conference this season in goals (24), assists (13) and points (37), received the same weekly honor last Monday.PSU’s career leading scorer, Sheridan is also climbing up on the all-time Division III scoring charts. She has recorded 234 goals to rank tied for 16th on the career goals list, and her 311 career points ranks tied for 23rd all-time.Not including last night’s game against Keene State, the Panthers remain undefeated headed into this weekend’s contests. The Panthers will travel to face Rhode Island College Saturday before returning home to host Bowdoin on Sunday.
