Jason Shain to Release Album

Long Island, NY: Jason Shain, the Long Island-born-and-raised singer-songwriter, is set to release his new album, “Sooner Or Later,” on July 13th. The album, which is being released on Jason’s own label, Sleeveless Records, is the follow-up to his debut album, “Here I Am,” which came out in February 2002.Sometimes blue, sometimes upbeat, always compelling, “Sooner Or Later” musically incorporates the “New York Country” moniker Jason has given to his own music. (“”It’s not folk music, it’s not country music, it’s not rock music. Its roots are based in country, but it comes from a city where rock is dominant.”) Recorded at Grand Street Studios in Brooklyn and produced by Jason himself, “Sooner Or Later” was recorded with a full five-piece band; however he will continue to tour solo acoustic. Shain, who loves to play live, and visited locations throughout the Northeastern U.S., Canada, England, France, and Scotland, has already garnered opening slots for the likes of Stacey Earle, Steve Forbert, Huey Lewis, Joan Osborne, Chip Taylor, and Southside Johnny. Armed with a six-string, a harmonica, and a novel’s worth of anecdotes, Shain’s live sets bring smiles, empathetic heartache, and an eagerness for more of his hypnotic music.”Here I Am” scored some wonderful press feedback, including:”Jason Shain certainly knows…a little something about storytelling… Mr. Shain shrouds his mournful musings in warm acoustic guitar strums and stark, face-front vocals. …there’s a hauntingly eerie feel showering the disc like a vaporous blanket of regret.” – Island Ear”Jason’s voice is like that of a modern minstrel… The less-is-more approach to making music has fallen by the wayside in recent years, but Jason Shain reminds us that the old ways are often the best ways.” – Long Island Music Scene”The nine tracks on ‘Here I Am’ showcase Shain’s lyrical and musical chops and a style, which he calls New York Country, familiar to those who have seen his live shows; dramatic, passionate and intimate. He creates this mood without special effects or light shows, just a guitar, a harmonica and stories that define and redefine their relationships from one verse to the next.” – chorus and verse.com”Jason Shain is the closest thing you’ll find to catching Bob Dylan in Greenwich Village in the early 60s.” – asburymusic.comShain plans to tour extensively in support of “Sooner Or Later,” including shows in England (he’s already confirmed an opening slot with John Sebastian there) and the U.S. Currently, he has a New York City show scheduled at the Living Room on June 25th, and an album release show will also be scheduled in NYC in July. Many more tour dates will be announced as they are confirmed.Jason Shain can be found online at www.jasonshain.comLorem exeraesequis at et, si.
