Plymouth State Student Killed in Motorcycle Accident

PLYMOUTH-Plymouth State University has again been struck by sadness over the death of one of our own. On Tuesday, April 19, PSU student, Stephen Guillet was killed when the motorcycle he was riding collided with a pickup truck on Route 175 in Holderness late in the afternoon.

Guillet collided with a truck that was driven by Robert Reese of Thornton, and was pronounced dead at the scene. Reese was treated at Speare Memorial hospital for minor cuts and was released.

Guillet was a junior business major from Durham, New Hampshire, and a graduate of Oyster River High School. “This tragic loss affects all of us, but none more than Stephen’s family. I ask that we hold Stephen’s memory and his family and friends in our thoughts and prayers,” stated Vice President Hage in an all-campus email.

The accident is still under investigation by the Holderness Police Department and the New Hampshire State Police.

A graveside ceremony wil be held for Guillet on Friday, April 22 at 12:30 p.m. at Sacred Heart Cemetary, in Bedford Massachusetts. Services for New Hampshire family, friends, and colleagues will be held on Saturday, April 23, at 11 a.m. at the Lee Congregational Church, and a reception in the Fellowship Hall will immediately follow.

According to Vice President Hage a Plymouth State University memorial service will probably be held sometime next week. As Stephen Guillet will be sorely missed by all the lives he touched here at Plymouth State University, an on campus memorial service will be held Wednesday, April 27, at noon.
