Student Senate Meeting 9/12:

Guest SpeakersElaine Allord and David Berona were the guest speakers at Sunday’s meeting. They discussed the new plans for Lamson Library. These plans include a new circulation desk, more classrooms on the ground floor and a new café, that will be accessible from the outside. There will also be Internet technology assistance throughout the library and a greater concentration on technological capabilities. These improvements are scheduled to be completed by fall of 2006. Vice President Hage spoke of the overcrowding issues that we are currently experiencing with housing. He stated that it was a result of increased retention as well as the enrollment of 50 students more than was expected. Hage anticipates that by the 15th of September all but 8 of those students currently housed in hotels will be moved onto campus. It is an area of concern that is being actively dealt with by the administration.
