I am writing in response to the article that was written about the forum held by President Wharton on September 7, 2005. I believe it is stated by John Kelly that students “don’t wave to say thank you when oncoming traffic stops for them, it’s as if they’re saying, “To hell with you people, we pay our tuition”. This is crazy. I am sick of people thinking that just because we are college students, we are rude and “obnoxious”, like Eleanor Plummer said. I, for one, and many of my friends, are not rude and obnoxious, thank you very much. And as a matter of fact, I DO wave and say thank you when someone stops for me. Not EVERYONE in this college is rude! I think these people should think about what they say before they say it, and shouldn’t complain about these little things and focus on bigger things.
