Friday November 11- -Today is a great day around the world. Not only is it Veteran’s Day here in the US, it is also Remembrance Day in Canada. -Today Angola and Poland are both celebrating their Independence. -On the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month, WWI comes to an end in 1918. -Remember those today who died without a name. In 1921, in honor of the end of WWI, the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier is dedicated to those that are missing in action, or whose bodies have never been found. The tomb, located at Arlington cemetery, is protected around-the-clock today.

Saturday November 12- -Princess and actress Grace Kelly celebrates a birthday today.-Say ‘hey’ to the mailman. This is Postman’s Day in Mexico.-Today is “I Need a Patch for That” Day. We all have our own addictions. Who said we can’t have an excuse?-In 1907, Katharine Hepburn was born in Hartford CT.-In 1799, the first ever meteor shower is recorded. Astronomer Andrew Ellicott Douglass, born in VT, recorded the first identified meteor shower in Florida. -Maya Lin of Yale University is chosen as having the winning design for he Vietnam Veterans Memorial, which is dedicated on this day in 1982. The granite wall was inscribed with the names of 57,939 soldiers. Today, there are well over 58,000 names listed.-Enjoy the night sky. When you look up tonight, you will notice the moon is in its last quarter at exactly 12:45 p.m.

Sunday November 13- -Be especially nice, today is World Kindness Day. -Yay for Hippies! In Tunisia, citizens are celebrating Tree Day today. -Both Whoopie Goldberg and Robert Louis Stevenson’s Birthday. -It’s not quite Christmas, but today is Gingerbread House Day. -Can you imagine a world without Disney? In 1940, Fantasia opens. -Celebrate your Constitutional right. This is the middle of Pursuit of Happiness week. -Adopt a pet in honor of National Animal Shelter Awareness Week.

Tuesday November 15– Not only is this my 21st birthday, it is also I Love to Write Day and America Recycles Day (how fitting for anyone who knows me), and National Educational Support Professionals Day. Here’s to me! -Love Me Tender…In 1956, Elvis Presley’s first movie premiers. -In 1777, after sixteen months of deliberation, the first Articles of Confederation are adopted. -As if this isn’t enough, here are more November-long reasons to celebrate. National Peanut Butter Month, Vegan Month, National Pomegranate Month, and International Percussion Month.
