Many students are unsatisfied with the food offered at Prospect Hall and choose to use the meal exchange opportunity that is offered by the Sodexho dining services of Plymouth State University.
The staff of the dining services recognized that some students desire a variety of foods and were looking to eat at certain times of the day when Prospect was not open. The recenty implemented meal exchanges are posted in the HUB, on the walls and on the registers. The sidewalk café and the HUB café both offer meal swaps.
Chris Mongeon General Manager of Dining Hall Services at PSU explained how Prospect Hall produces a larger quantity of food. As a result, sometimes the food at the HUB can be of better quality. However, when asked at what location he would rather dine, he answered, “Prospect Hall.” On that same note he said, “The pizza at the HUB is made with the same dough, sauce, and cheese as the pizza at Prospect Hall.”
The students are the ones who eat the University food the most: What do they think? Brian Azarian, a first year business administration major said, “Personally, I think the food here [Prospect Hall] sucks, and the HUB is over-priced.”
Not many students disagreed. Collin Snide, however, a first year biotechnology major, countered Azarian’s statement by saying, “I really enjoy the food at both Prospect and the HUB. All the food tasted great and I was raised to be thankful for what was given to me.”
