Plymouth State student turnout strong on voting day

On Election Day, Plymouth saw a tremendous turnout in Plymouth State University voters. Plymouth State Student Government and Plymouth State College Democrats worked together to sponsor van trips from outside the HUB to the polls at Plymouth Elementary School.

“We estimate that about 100 students were transported via van to the polls today,” said Student Body President Peter Laufenburg. According to Laufenburg, election officials reported a, “Good, steady turnout of PSU students all day long.”

“Unfortunately, I believe that the Republicans will, and need, to lose for the shock value of a loss alone. This will get them back to their base of fi scal responsibility, small government, and low taxes,” said Dustin Siggins, President of PSU College Republicans.

Nick Gunn, President of PSU College Democrats made a similar remark. “Governor Lynch will win by a landslide. Paul Hodes is likely to win, but I’m not sure and Deb Reynolds will win as long as enough students voted. On a national scale, the Democrats will have a slim majority in the House, but I’m not convinced that we will take the Senate,” he said.
