Carve For Construction: 24-hour ski/board marathon to benefit Habitat for Humanity

As if there weren’t enough reasons to spend all day on snow, here’s one more. On Sunday, March 11, The Event Marketing class at PSU is hosting a 24-hour ski/snow board-a-thon to raise money for Habitat for Humanity.

The event will be held at Loon Mountain. Teams of two to four will compete for the most runs in a 24-hour period. The teams with the most runs will win prizes including cash, boards, stickers and more. The cost is $25 per race ticket, but for those with a threedom pass, the cost is $15 per ticket. 50% of every ticket sold goes to Habitat for Humanity. Even if one’s talent lies elsewhere than winter sports, there is something for them too. There is the option to buy runs for a team of choice, at $1 a run.

The event will be split into two different time periods, day and night, but all are welcome to ski/board the full 24-hour period, which goes from 10:00 A.M. on Sunday until 10:00 A.M. Monday. Registration for the event is from 8-9:30 P.M. and 4-5:30 P.M. on the 11, registration will be in the Bunyan Room at Loon Mountain Lodge. There will be entertainment, food and a raffle give-away as well. So grab a friend, or three, and turn a normal weekend activity into something charitable.
