Adam Spaulding named PSU Student Employee of the Year

Students, families, faculty and administration gathered in the Bradford Room in Centre Lodge to honor the hard working 14 Student Employee of the Year (SEOTY) nominees and named Athletics employee Adam Spaulding the Student Employee of the Year on Tuesday, April 10.

“We are very excited to be recognizing those students who have gone above and beyond their call of duty,” said Angela Uhlman, coordinator and SEOTY committee member.

After a brief ceremony, including a reading from “The Student Is” and a speech from President Sara Jayne Steen, USNH Trustee Jeremy Foskitt and Student Body President Peter Laufenberg gave awards to the nominees. Adam Spaulding was awarded after the initial ceremony.

“Adam has been a key to the success that we have had,” read President Steen from the letter of recommendation for the award from Spaulding’s Athletic supervisors. “Adam wants people to leave PSU win or lose, with the feeling that they were treated as they would like to be treated.”

Other nominees included Jennifer Barnhill (Bagley Center), Meredith Barrett (Reading and Writing Center), Bridget Bixby (Public Relations), Joshua Boardman (Hartman Union Building), Emily Brennan (Music, Theatre and Dance), Paul DellaGrotte (Physical Plant), Matthew Friend (Facilities Services), Marissa Goodnow (Department of Biological Sciences and the Center for the Environment), Amanda Landry (English Department), Jessica Morrell (Alumni Relations), Brittany O’Neill (Hartman Union Building), Michelle Stephens (Undergraduate Studies) and Kariann Woolf (A+ PLUS After School).

The New Hampshire Student Employee of the Year award has not yet been determined.
