Plymouth State University has recently launched a new online calendar called ThisWeek@PSU that is focused on providing students and the surrounding communities with valuable campus event information.
“This is an exciting initiative that for the first time pulls together information from across the University and organizes it in one central location,” said Chris Williams, the PSU Director of Public Relations. “I’m confident that PSU and surrounding communities will come to depend on it as an invaluable resource.”
ThisWeek@PSU is updated weekly, featuring upcoming student organization sponsored events. The site offers several interactive tools, most notably a blogging system that allows users to post ideas, thoughts and reactions to campus events they have attended or are thinking about attending. Users can also submit events to be posted on the site. Events are broken down into event categories: Alumni, art, athletics, film and many others, complete with links back to the PSU homepage.
The site has a subscription feature that provides users access to their favorite newsreader. They can also download the iCal feature periodically to load information and events into their Google, iPod or myPlymouth calendars.
“Our goal is to make ThisWeek@PSU an online destination for PSU and surrounding communities. It’s more than keeping track of on-campus events, it’s an opportunity to comment, discuss, and learn about PSU’s many offerings,” said Williams.
