Information pertaining to students became a little more accessible on Sunday, April 15 when the first installment of Plymouth State Student Meetings were aired on pbCAM, the Plymouth public access television station.
“I pushed really hard to have this on public access,” said Trevor Chandler, chair of this year’s Student Senate Communications Committee, “not only for town/gown relations, but also to make Student Senate more accessible to the student body.”
The Communication Committee of Student Senate has been taping meetings for two years. According to Chandler, the Senate chose to tape the meetings last year for the purpose of details and posterity. Last year’s chair, Ryan Rush, took on the long and arduous process of filming the meetings on videotape. This year, the committee switched to a digital filming system, making the process much easier.
“We’ve had great success in dealing with public access and they have been very helpful to us,” Chandler said.
Senate meetings will be aired every on Sunday at 4 P.M., Tuesday at 8 A.M., and Wednesday at 3 P.M. Anyone who has any questions is encouraged to attend the Student Senate meeting write to senate@plymouth.edu.
