PSU held its annual State of the Campus event to announce the results of this year’s student body elections on Thursday, April 26.
The event took place in Prospect Dining Hall where students gathered for a late night event of fun foods such as like buffalo wings and cotton candy while hearing the results of the student body election. Voting took place all week at tables set up in the HUB and in Prospect. Various student organizations around campus also helped out by donating money towards prizes for a raffle. Event coordinators raffled off super soakers, grills, DVD’s, a Nintendo DS and a stereo.
Also at the event was PSU’s own rock reggae jam-band. Pay the Piper, who played a full set including many of their popular tunes, as well as their own version of Pink Floyds “Run Like Hell.” The band was full of energy and helped draw a crowd of students that may not have come to the event otherwise.
“It was a fun time had by all,” said sophomore Mike Plourde. “The band was tight, the food was good, and it brought together a lot of different groups of people that you normally wouldn’t see together at the same event.”
