Plymouth, N.H.—Just one week after receiving the honor of New England Football Conference Defensive Player of the Week, senior Christian Mulcahy (Norwich, Conn.) has snagged yet another award: NEFC Special Teams Player of the Week.
The past couple weeks have been a showcase for Mulcahy’s talent on the football field. Last week against Nichols College, the defensive back recorded two interceptions, four pass breakups, and even added to the final score with a 90-yard kickoff return touchdown, along with being in 4-for-5 PAT kicking. The month only got better for Mulcahy when MIT visited the Panthers this past Saturday. Two more interceptions, a career-long 42-yard field goal, along with a pair of explosive returns were the highlight of the Panther’s 30-27 victory over the Engineers.
Mulcahy wasn’t the only honoree from PSU Football this week. Junior running back Andrew Foglia (Montauk, N.Y.) was named to the NEFC Weekly Honor Roll for the fourth time in his career. Foglia was the workhorse of Saturday’s win over MIT. His hard work culminated in 118 yards rushing and a touchdown.
Junior Peter LaBreck (Thorton, N.H.) represented the Plymouth State Defense by making his first appearance in the NEFC Weekly Honor Roll. He delivered an impressive performance on Saturday, with back-to-back sacks and ten tackles against MIT.
All three of these PSU honorees will look to continue their dominance on the field this Saturday, when the Panther’s face off against Endicott College at Endicott.
