Gun Accident Takes the Life of PSU Student

Late on Friday, January 20, the Plymouth Police responded to an emergency call made from Fox Park Apartments. Dylan Evans, 20, of Jaffrey, NH, was found “unconscious in his kitchen” Dylan was then transported to Speare Memorial Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

A preliminary investigation made by the Plymouth Police led them to believe that “an accidental discharge while handling a firearm played a role in Mr. Evan’s death.” The incident is believed to be accidental, according to the Plymouth Police Department.

A funeral service was held on Saturday, January 28 at The United Church of Jaffrey.

Dylan had transferred to PSU in the fall of 2011 as a sophomore, where he became a brother of the fraternity Sigma Tau Gamma. Dylan was known to be incredibly generous, often spending his time volunteering at an animal shelter in his hometown and helping his friends, family, and fraternity brothers.

Students and members of the campus community who wish to send sympathy cards to his family are welcome to forward them to Dean of Students, Tim Keefe, who will see that they reach the family.

Our thoughts, prayers, and deepest regards are with those whose lives were touched by Dylan Evans at this difficult and tragic time.
