PSU Men’s Soccer Gets Impressive Win Against Daniel Webster

 

Plymouth, N.H. – The Plymouth State men’s soccer team played host to the visiting team from Daniel Webster College this past Wednesday (10/3/2012) evening in a non-conference matchup at Panther Field.

         Plymouth State going on the board at about midway through the first half when freshman Petro Masumbuko (Manchester, N.H. / Central) scored off the pass from sophomore Joss Knol (Wellington, New Zealand) for his fourth goal of the season.

         Daniel Webster almost tied the game a short time later, but the header bounded off the post. The Panthers were able to score yet again when junior Santi Aquilar (Lima, Peru) collected a lose ball from about 50 yards out and booted it over the keeper’s head and into the back of the net to make 2-0 Panthers. Daniel Webster was finally able to get on board only a few minutes later when they were awarded a penalty kick and sophomore Brad Hosey drilled in to make the score 2-1 going into the 2nd half.

         Plymouth State was able to put the game away for good about 20 minutes into the 2nd half when junior Jacob Sjoberg (Linkoping, Sweden) took a centering pass and drilled home to seal the victory for the Panthers.

         Plymouth State was next in action this Saturday (10/6/12) when they take on Southern Maine University in a Little East Conference showdown. Keep checking back for full game coverage!
