Women’s Volleyball Opens Invitational Play With A Sweep

 

Springfield, Mass. – Plymouth State began pool play at the Tom Hay Invitational at Springfield College in impressive fashion as they swept the team from Westfield State University 3-0.

         The Panthers did not have their work cut out for them, however. All three were close with final scores of 25-22, 25-22, and 25-23. Senior Casey Stoodley (Salem, N.H.) continues to impress this season, as she lead the Panthers on the day with a six digs, two blocks, a pair of service aces, and a .429 hitting perecentage. She was helped on the day by freshman Sam Clark (Coventry, R.I) with six kills, freshman setter Kristen Perrotta (Hudson, N.H.) with 34 assists, and junior Kaitlyn Tedeschi (Pascoag, R.I.) with four kills and 11 digs.

         This was the only match on the day for the Panthers. They were next set to be in action on Saturday (10/6) when they were scheduled to take on the team from New Paltz.
