Women’s Volleyball Drops Two On Final Day of Tournament Play

 

          Springfield, Mass. – The Plymouth State University women’s volleyball opened the final day of play in the Tom Hay Invitational at Springfield College this past Saturday (10.6.2012) with games against host Springfield and the team from New Platz (N.Y.)

         Plymouth State started the day in a game against New Platz. Plymouth State was bested by New Platz by final match scores of 25-21, 12-25,25-12 and 25-15. Plymouth State next took on host Springfield in a game that saw them lose by scores of 25-12,25-12, and 25-12.

         In was another standout day from Plymouth State senior Casey Stoodley (Salem, N.H.), who later was selected to the All – Tournament team. Stoodley had 16 kills and 18 digs in the game against New Paltz, and added an additional 10 kills and 10 digs against Springfield. Stoodley also became the 11th player in PSU history to reach 1,000 career digs, only 11 days after reaching 1,000 kills.  Congratulations, Casey!

         Plymouth State will next be in action this Tuesday (10.8.12) as they host the University of Southern Maine at 6 p.m at the Foley Gymnasium
