Men’s Soccer Suffers Tough Loss Against Western Connecticut

Danbury, Conn. – The Plymouth State men’s soccer looked to bounce back from a tough loss against Nichols this past Monday as they traveled to take on the team from Western Connecticut State University.

Both teams played to a stalemate through the first half, although Plymouth State was able to outshoot Western by a 9-3 margin. Both team’s offensive struggles continued into the next half as both were unable to find the back of the night, although PSU was able to get nine shots off again before the game was sent to OT.

It only took a little over 3 minutes of the OT period before winner was decided.  After a Western corner kick off the right side landed right in front of the PSU net, it caromed off a Colonial player right in front of Western freshman Phil Dagostino who was able to drive it into the back of the net to secure the victory.

Plymouth State will next be in action this coming Saturday on the road as they travel to take on Rhode Island College.
