
Plymouth, N.H.- Western Connecticut State University scored goals just minutes apart from each other in each half on their way to a 4-0 win over Plymouth State this past Saturday (10/13/12) in a Little East Conference soccer match at Panther Field.
Western Connecticut started the scoring early at 16:33 after a Colonial player was able to collect a lose ball inside the box and fire a shot over the goalkeepers head to make it 1-0. The Colonials were able to score again only about a minute, when they were able to convert a corner kick to make it 2-0 going into the 2nd half.
The Panthers suffered a huge lost early in the second half when starting goalkeeper Chelsea Duval (Dover, N.H.) was forced from the game due to an injury. Even with the loss of Duval, The Panthers were able to keep it close. At the 68th minute a Colonial player was able to take a long pass down the side and sneak it by to make it 3-0. Western Connecticut struck again only a few minutes later to seal the win with a final score of 4-0.
Plymouth State will again be in action this Monday, 10/15, as they play a make-up game at Worcester State
