Get to Know Student Life

If you’re a Hub regular, every few Fridays you may see the Student Life staff in the Fireplace Lounge greeting the passing students and handing out free milk and cookies. The Student Life staff is there to get to know students and talk about the different services they offer. The programs offered by Student Life include the Recreational Programs, the Wellness Center, Community Service, Student Activities, New Student Orientation, the I.D. and Print Shop, and the Outdoor Center. They also take reservations from student organizations to use space in the Hub and oversee student employees in the Hub.

According to the Assistant Vice President for Student Life, Terri Potter, the Student Life staff would like to hear from more students. Terri said, “What would really help is if students would talk to us… what we’d love is if they’d ask more questions.” She explained that student life is hoping to raise awareness about the different programs they offer.

Sophomore Emily Spring stopped by for some cookies, when asked about her opinion of First Fridays she said, “I think it’s a good opportunity for students, especially the ones that don’t spend much time in the Hub… many students don’t realize that there are a lot of services offered in the building for free.” She continued by saying, “Free cookies rock!”

The event takes place on the first Friday of every month and begins at 11:30, if you miss the event, you can always stop by the Student Life office across from the Print Shop in the Hub.
