Holderness, NH- Plymouth State University defeats UMass Boston in their first conference matchup, posting 15 goals while only letting up 4. They improved their overall record to 4-1 (1-0).
PSU struck early and hard leading 4-2 after the first quarter. They continued to add to their lead shooting 6 second period goals, making the score a steep 10-3. Feeling the fire after half time, Plymouth had a 4-0 third period with goals from four different players.
They would finish the game scoring with 12:10 left on the clock while letting up a goal to UMass Boston’s Pete Nichols with 9:30 remaining in the game.
Stars of the game go to Junior Brett Miller (Windham, NH) and Junior Zach Frank (Wakefield, MA). Brett Miller had four points, striking three goals and one assist. All three goals came in the first half. Zach Frank had a game high 7 points, scoring two goals and dishing out five assists.
Plymouth State looks to keep rolling on a two game win streak when they next take on rival Salem State (5-1). The game will be located at the Holderness School next Saturday.
