Women’s Soccer looks to Continue Strong Play

The Lady Panthers have been able to put together two impressive games, winning both, improving their record one game at a time. The Lady Panthers were able to win the first of two in overtime against Salem state.  Senior Laura Davis (Pelham, N.Y.) scored the winning goal.

PSU took on Salem State at Panther field on October 8th; and this contest proved to be an exciting one. Plymouth drew first blood in the first half with a goal from junior Emily Bell (Derry, N.H.) in the 23rd minute. Snively added some insurance in the second half on a corner kick that was able to squeeze by Salem State goal tender.

Salem State was able to make things interesting late in the second half; in the 60th minute Sophomore Leah Wood of Salem snuck a goal past Plymouth’s Annaliese Schmidt (Newmarket, NH). The tying goal was scored by first year Victoria Clancy which pushed this game into overtime. Laura Davis capitalized on a free kick in the first overtime to win their third game of the season.

October 12 the lady Panthers traveled to Providence Rhode Island where they took on Rhode Island College. Laura Davis and Emily Bell of Plymouth scored two first half goals giving Plymouth a 2-0 lead.

The Plymouth defense once again wasn’t able to keep the lead and Rhode Island College tied the game with two goals from Gabrielle Turner.

The hero for the Panthers was Senior Shannon Snively scoring in the 87th minute giving the Panthers their fourth win of the year.

Plymouth’s next four games are at home starting with Gordon College.
