Men’s Soccer Drops Tough One in Season Finale

The Plymouth State Panthers fell to Eastern Connecticut last Saturday, 3-1 on Senior Day at Panther Field.  The Warriors clinched the LEC title with their victory.  Ted Karlstrand (Halmstad, Sweden) scored the lone goal for Plymouth, as the team bid farewell to seniors Adam Groves (Brooksville, Maine), Christian Bua (Gilford, NH), Santi Aguilar (Lima, Peru) and Jacob Sjoberg (Linkoping, Sweden).

With a strong sophomore class, the Panthers should have a much stronger season next year. There will only be one senior on the squad as of now, which is Felderson Thelusma (Somersworth, N.H.). He started seven games this year and notched an assist on his stat line, despite only playing in five games due to injuries. Santi Aguilar was a strong player who will be missed along with Christian Bua, who was a very solid defender who started every game this year for the Panthers was a team captain and had a heck of a career for Plymouth. Adam Groves, another captain was a lethal forward who put in a very plentiful resume as a Panther striker. Jacob Sjoberg notched in two goals this year and is another senior who left it all on the field every game. Ted Karlstrand was a captain as a sophomore and started every game. He is projected to have a very impressive year as a Junior.

The Panthers didn’t have their best year on paper but put forth noble and valiant efforts in every game. Their season also featured a strong six game winning streak. Next year they will have a plethora of upper classmen and should pose as a threat in the LEC.
