A Weekend of Jam over the Yonder Mountain

Plymouth, NH- On Friday, November 15th the Flying Monkey Performance Center is excited to bring back Rusted Root, known for its unique blend of experimental world beat folk-rock fusion, and high energy live shows. Saturday, November 16th showcases Jeff Austin & The Here & Now. Known best as the frontman, singer, and mandolin player for Yonder Mountain String Band, his new project has been lauded by critics and the jam band scene alike. Tickets for these concerts start at $35.
Celebrating more than two decades of music and touting its 2012 release, “The Movement,” Rusted Root is bringing its world-touring act back to Plymouth. The Pittsburgh-based outfit, which broke onto the scene in the early 1990s with its second album “When I Woke” – highlighted by the songs “Send Me on My Way,” “Back to the Earth,” “Ecstasy,” and “Beautiful People” – is part of a bigger show this year with breakout artist Von Grey and Will Evans of Barefoot Truth with his new band sharing the stage.
“Plymouth and the surrounding communities like to go out a groove to danceable music, they like to jam” says Seth McNally, Flying Monkey entertainment director. “Rusted Root is one of the best live bands in the scene, and to have a Yonder Mountain-esque show with frontman Jeff Austin on the same weekend is a thrill for us and NH fans.”
Jeff Austin redefined American roots music with The Yonder Mountain String Band, and with The Here And Now he’s stretching out his mandolin skills yet again. Celebrated for his fleet fingers and unique approach to bluegrass, Jeff has become a driving force in modern roots music and lauded in the jam band scene.
The Here And Now are a Bluegrass trio consisting of Banjo wizard Danny Barnes, along with Johnny Grubb (formerly of Railroad Earth) on upright bass. The shows will feature new songs from Austin as well as some favorites from the Yonder Mountain String Band songbook.
Tickets for both concerts, Rusted Root & Jeff Austin, are $35, and $45 for premier seating. For tickets and more information on the concert and the Flying Monkey Performance Center, visit www.flyingmonkeyNH. com or call 603-536-2551.
