PSU Style Files

The winter season is rolling in quickly-so say goodbye to lightweight jackets and hello to big sweaters, long socks and boots. This is the time of year when students begin to focus more on warmth and comfort, while still trying to capture their personality through style.
Oftentimes, students sacrifice their personal style for those big bulky jackets in order to stay warm. However with enough effort, thought and creativity, you can incorporate your personal fashion pieces with your basic winter coat. It’s time to embrace the season coming in and watch the autumn season fade away.
Here you will find the first ’embracing the colder weather’ edition of style files across the Plymouth State University campus.

Kelsea Lynch. 19. Communication and Media Studies Major.

“When the winter begins to roll in, I think to wear leggings and a sweater so that I’m comfy. I also like to wear a nice warm scarf. Overall, I would describe my style as artsy…at least I try to be [laughs].”

Brandon Pierre. 19. Business Major.

“My style is an extension of my personality. I think the way I dress is how I want to be perceived by others and how I perceive myself. I would describe my style as well put together, clean, classic and professional and I think that’s very much like my personality. I want to be taken seriously by people and I think my style says that. I’m not someone that just rolls out of bed, I’m more thoughtful than that and I think that shows in the way I dress…and I think other people are aware of that. It shows that I’m thoughtful in everything that I do, even to the clothes I wear each day.”

Ayla Steere. 18. Health Education Major.

“I always dress comfortable. Most of the time I wear leggings with boots and a sweater. I also wear layers a lot in case I get hot or cold. Most of my sweaters come form thrift stores and even the men’s section. And I usually wear combat boots with wool socks showing. They are comfortable for walking around campus and warm during the colder days.”
