Winning Ways Continue for Men’s Lacrosse

The winning continues for the PSU Men’s Lacrosse team, who beat UMass Dartmouth 9-7 for their sixth win in a row last Saturday. The team is 7-1 overall and 2-0 in the LEC. Their first division win came against Western Connecticut in a nail biting 8-7 victory, with Senior Aaron Boss (Keene, NH) scoring the winning goal in the beginning of the fourth quarter. The defense found themselves in a hole while West Conn was on their side of the field for the last three minutes, but they held their ground with stunning play by their goalie Chris St George (Marblehead, Mass).

When asked about their stunning victory at West Conn Aaron Boss said, “It was awesome, the win felt really good.” This win was extremely important because it was the first win in their division, and they lost to them in a close game last year.

To continue their success on the field Aaron Boss says, “our preparation has to be on point, like it has been all year, we have really come together as a team watching film, and focusing each day during practice. If we stay healthy we have a chance to keep on winning.”

The PSU Men’s Lacrosse team’s next game is Wednesday,  April 8th against New England College. NEC is 4-5 overall and 4-0 in the NAC. PSU hasn’t played them since 2009, where they lost 10-1. With revenge on their minds, the team focuses on keeping their win streak alive.

“We are going to key into what they do, look at their key players, and play team defense like we have been doing all year. We’re going to play our game, I know for defense we play aggressive, and so does the offense,” said senior Sean Dolan (Hampton, NH).

Even though this group of players hasn’t played NEC yet, they know that if they stick to their game plan, and play to their strengths, than they will be able to put another game in the win column.

PSU Men’s Lacrosse team is heading into the hardest part of their schedule, with top LEC team’s Keene State, and Eastern Connecticut coming at the end of the month. The team has been playing great, and if they continue this success, the NCAA tournament is in their future.
