On Saturday September 17th, the women’s soccer team beat UMass Boston to continue on their winning streak now standing at six and zero. Giving up their first goal of the sea- son, the Panthers came out victorious with a 2-1 final score.

After the first 45 minutes of play, both teams were even at 1-1. Scoring started off with penalty kick 20 min- utes in, when Jaclyn O'Grady scored the first goal against Plymouth State of the season. She would end up with four shots on net, but scoring ended for UMass early. Plymouth fired back minutes later with a goal from Caitlin Catania (Billerica, MA.) at 32:19, who was assisted by fellow teammate Katie Martin (Keene, N.H).

With the game winding down the Panthers kicked it up a notch, challenging their opponents. The game winning goal that was a group effort was scored by senior Leah Swanson (Atkinson, N.H.), and assisted by Adrianna Kippenberger (Wilmington, MA.) and Junior Sophie Brisere (Stockholm, Sweden) Swanson, one of Plymouth’s top defenders, picked up her third goal of the season in the win.

Game leaders for Plymouth included Leah Swanson, Caitlin Catania, Sophie Brisere, Adrianna Kippenberger and Katie Martin. Starting goaltender Annaliese Schmidt took nine shots on the evening, saving eight. 

Plymouth State continued their season at on Wednesday, September 21st against Daniel Webster, where they would come up with another non-conference win. Stats and recap were unavailable for press time.
